Evocative remix of movies and music…

Jul 1

The late Peter Falk, as a former angel talking to Bruno Ganz’s angel in Wings of Desire (one of my favorites) about the joys of the little things of life in this world.

(And yes, Bruno Ganz has played characters other than Hitler.)

Flick Link: Exit Through the Gift Shop

Funny documentary (?) containing great comment on Art, the art market, and the art of the art market.

“A boy’s best friend is his mother.”
Psycho (1960)

This one scared the crap out of me when I saw it at the age of 10. What were my neighbors thinking when they took me and their son to see it?

From Executive Suite (Netflix DVD - IMDB - TCM), the final scene extolling the value of pride in one’s work.

“This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off.”
Alien (1979)

I keep waiting for the alien to jump out. Not only from familiarity with the movie, but also with other great gif from iwdrm.

Start with special effects a la the Matrix series, then add Bollywood excess, and you end up with the final scenes of India’s most expensive movie.

Slap happy.

Dining/Movie Combo - Not for Me

Not really interested in the concept of dining at the movies.

Besides the probable compromise in food quality, the light needed to eat would ruin the movie experience for me.

Hell, exit lights annoy me.

And don’t get me started about the potential for noise.

Moon

Movie recommendation of the week. Great science fiction premise. All the more impressive that for 95% of the movie, Sam Rockwell acting with himself. If you haven’t seen it yet, go out and rent it.

A Cinco de Mayo message for Arizona. Machete from Robert Rodriguez.

Roger Ebert doesn't like 3D

Avatar underwhelmed me as well. And the idea of living room 3D TVs is laughable.
